Traffic during the big game in downtown Atlanta

The Super Bowl LIII event period begins on Sunday, so we wanted to provide links and resources to help our community members navigate commutes to Downtown for work, Atlanta school, and other activities.

What is the expected number of attendees? WHEN ARE THEY ARRIVING?

During Super Bowl LIII, Atlanta is expected to welcome 150.000 out-of-town visitors. During the week of January 31 through February 3 there will be a noticeable influx of visitors from out of town heading to the airport to return home. On February 4 there will be a significant egress from the airport to the city by out of town visitors.

Official, sanctioned, and related NFL events, such as Super Bowl LIVE and Super Bowl Experience, will begin as early as Saturday, January 26. The ATLSuperBowl53.com website has more information about these events.

I WORK IN DOWNTOWN ATLANTA. HOW WILL I GET TO MY OFFICE? CAN CLIENTS, CUSTOMERS, AND EMPLOYEES GET TO THE OFFICE?

The event will have minimal impact during business hours due to excellent planning. In order to ensure smooth operations during the event period, it is recommended that employers, employees, and others accessing Downtown Atlanta during the business day use public transportation, rideshare, flex time, telecommuting, and other methods. The following measures are particularly recommended on Thursday, January 31 and Friday, February 1.

Is there information about parking, road closures, and public transportation?

You can find the most up-to-date information on the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee's website at ATLSuperBowl53.com.

I usually drive, but would like to learn more about using MARTA.

Great! For a nice overview of trip planning, parking at stations, and purchasing fares, check out MARTA's website.

I LIVE OUTSIDE THE PERIMETER. HOW CAN I GET TO DOWNTOWN BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION?

Commuters living near Atlanta Park and Rides should check out CobbLinc, Gwinnett County Transit, and GRTA Xpress.

MARTA will end Routes 100, 101, 10A & 10B at Civic Center MARTA Station from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6 due to road closures and lane restrictions related to the Super Bowl. Details

CAN YOU HELP ME PLAN A ROUTE?

If you commute downtown for work, we would be happy to discuss your options and the most efficient route with you.
